Annual Report Design

Annual report design that communicates performance with clarity

An annual report is where strategy, performance and accountability come together, and where clarity matters most. We work with organisations managing complex content, multiple stakeholders and fixed deadlines. Our role is to bring structure to that process and shape information into a report that feels clear, consistent and considered.

With more than 20 years experience designing annual reports for print and digital formats, reports we design are easy to navigate, visually disciplined and true to your organisation’s voice.

How we approach annual report design

Turning complex information into confident communication

Annual reports are rarely read from front to back. Some audiences look for strategic direction and leadership commentary. Others focus on governance, performance or financial detail. The design needs to support all of them.

We structure reports so readers can move easily between sections, find what matters quickly and understand it without effort. Clear hierarchy, carefully structured layouts and thoughtful data presentation ensure the document works as a whole – not just page by page.

Give the year a clear narrative

Beyond structure, every report needs a sense of progression

  • What changed.
  • What moved forward.
  • What comes next.

Through careful pacing, editing and the considered use of imagery, case studies and data visualisation, we help shape a narrative that feels purposeful rather than procedural – which reinforces confidence in the organisation behind it.

Designed for the way reports are actually used

Today’s annual reports rarely live in a single format. They’re shared as PDFs, presented internally, repurposed across communications and, in many cases, printed for key audiences.

We design with that full lifecycle in mind, ensuring layouts, charts and imagery work just as effectively across every format. As part of a wider group with Bishops Printers and The Mailing People, production is considered from the outset — from pagination and paper stocks to distribution — so the final report is as practical to deliver as it is polished.

Designed to keep your project on track

Annual reports are rarely linear projects. Content evolves; feedback comes from multiple directions and deadlines stay fixed. We bring structure to that process by establishing templates, organising content and creating a framework that holds everything together as the report develops.

Our online proofing tool keeps feedback in one place, visible, and easy to track, so everyone involved can see what’s changing and why. This results in a process that feels clear, manageable and under control.

From our initial conversations through to launch, working with The Graphic Design House on The Sport Industry Report 2026 was an absolute pleasure. Their attention to detail and the precision of their work were second to none, and their clear, concise communication made collaboration between our organisations seamless. The final output met every requirement, and I would gladly recommend TGDH’s services for any upcoming project.

A steady hand for a demanding project

When expectations are high and timelines are fixed, you need a team that understands what’s at stake. Our team of 7 designers are experienced in handling long-form, content-heavy reports where detail matters. We know how to maintain consistency across hundreds of pages, manage evolving content and keep everything moving towards sign-off.

Working closely with Bishops Printers and The Mailing People, we can take your report from design through to print and distribution as one connected process. By factoring in production and mailing requirements from the outset, we reduce friction, maintain quality and ensure your report is delivered to stakeholders exactly as intended. What you’re left with is a report you can share with confidence, knowing it represents your organisation clearly, professionally, at its best.

FAQs

Do you design annual reports for both print and digital?

Yes. We design annual reports that work across print and screen, so they look just as strong whether they’re printed, downloaded as a PDF, or shared digitally. If you need versions optimised for different uses, we can help shape that from the start so you’re not duplicating effort later.

Can you work with our existing brand guidelines and templates?

Absolutely. Many clients come to us with established brand guidelines, and we’ll design within them to keep everything consistent. If parts of the design need refining to improve readability or consistency, we’ll advise on what’s worth updating and what can stay as-is.

What if our content, data or messaging isn’t final yet?

That’s normal for annual report projects. Content often comes together in stages, especially when multiple teams are involved. We can start with structure and layout early, then flow in content as it’s finalised. We’ll also help keep things organised as updates come in, so it doesn’t become a last-minute scramble.

We have a lot of stakeholders. How do you manage feedback and approvals?

Annual reports usually involve several decision-makers, and feedback can arrive from different directions. We use online proofing to make review simple and keep comments in one place. It reduces version confusion and makes sign-off smoother for everyone involved.

Can you help make data-heavy content easier to follow?

Yes. We regularly design reports with charts, tables and insight-led content. We focus on consistency in layout and data presentation so key information is easier to interpret and comparisons are clearer. The aim is to support understanding without over-designing or distracting from the message.

Can you create other materials to support the report launch?

Yes. Many annual reports need supporting assets such as summaries, social graphics, pull-up banners, event materials, or internal presentations. We can create a consistent set of design assets around the report so everything feels joined up.

How do you price annual report design?

Pricing depends on the size of the report, how complex the content is, and what formats you need. Some annual reports are straightforward layout and design; others require more design development, data visualisation and supporting assets. We’ll always scope the project clearly and provide a quote that fits your requirements and budget.

Can you take care of print as well?

Yes. We work closely with Bishops Printers, so we can manage everything from design through to print production and delivery. It keeps the process simpler, protects quality, and ensures your annual report is consistent from first proof to final finish.
