Churcher’s College

The foundation party brochure

The brief

Churcher’s College is an independent day school in Hampshire, offering education from Nursery through Sixth Form for boys and girls aged 3 to 18. With over 1,000 pupils at the Senior School and 250 at the Junior School, the college has a reputation for delivering a high standard of education and a strong sense of community. The Graphic Design House has worked with Churcher’s College across multiple projects, including school magazines and event collateral.

Churcher’s College asked us to design the brochure for their annual Foundation Party, a key fundraising event supporting the Richard Churcher Foundation. The brief required a clear, well-structured 28-page design that presented auction lots and sign-up parties in a professional and engaging way. The design needed to reflect the prestige of the event while maintaining consistency with the school’s existing brand identity, including colours, fonts, and layout style established in previous years.

Building on design foundations

We maintained the core structure and style from previous brochures, which had been well received, ensuring brand familiarity and continuity. Small refinements were introduced to improve visual flow and readability while retaining the established look and feel.

Clear layout and structure

Information was presented in an organised and accessible format. Auction listings, sign-up parties, and event details were clearly separated and supported by relevant images. The layout prioritised readability and ease of navigation, essential for a live fundraising environment.

Consistent brand application

We used the school’s two key brand colours to structure content and guide the reader. The primary colour was applied to body text and essential details, while the secondary colour was used to highlight quotes and section dividers, creating a clear visual hierarchy.

Print and finish

The final brochure was produced as a 28-page A5 publication, printed on 200gsm silk stock for the cover and 150gsm silk for the internal pages. The print finish provided a high-quality, durable product that aligned with the prestige of the Foundation Party event.

Results & next steps

The completed brochure delivered a consistent and professional publication that effectively supported the Foundation Party’s fundraising objectives. By maintaining a familiar design while refining the layout and visual balance, we provided a tool that was easy to use and reflected the school’s established identity. The premium print finish and cohesive presentation helped ensure the brochure contributed to a positive event experience and strong engagement from attendees.

Following the successful delivery of the Foundation Party Brochure, The Graphic Design House continues to collaborate with Churcher’s College on future projects. This ongoing partnership focuses on maintaining design consistency across materials while continuing to evolve the college’s visual identity as new opportunities arise.
