Hull Truck Theatre: Title Treatments

The client

Hull Truck Theatre presents a diverse programme of productions throughout the year, ranging from family shows and festive favourites to dramas and comedies for different audiences. We work with the theatre to create bespoke title treatments that provide each production with a distinctive visual identity.

The brief

Each production required a title treatment that reflected its story, genre and intended audience, while remaining flexible enough to work across a wide range of printed and digital applications. Every project began with a creative brief supported by moodboards, visual references and discussions around the atmosphere and personality of the show.

Our approach

Every production begins with a different story to tell. Our role is to translate that into a title treatment that captures the character of the show while remaining flexible enough to work across every stage of the marketing campaign.

Starting with the story

Every project begins with a creative brief exploring the production's themes, genre and intended audience. Moodboards, imagery and visual references help define the atmosphere and creative direction before any design work begins.

Bringing the identity to life

Once the core concept is established, colour palettes, effects and styling are applied to create a distinctive title treatment. Every design is developed to feel unique to the individual production while remaining true to the original creative direction.

Each title treatment is first explored in its simplest monochrome form. From there, typefaces are carefully selected before props, textures and graphic elements are introduced to reinforce the narrative and personality of the production.

The final artwork is developed as a flexible visual asset capable of working across brochures, posters, digital campaigns and animated content. Each treatment was designed to remain recognisable and effective at a range of sizes and formats.

We continue to support Hull Truck Theatre by creating bespoke title treatments across a wide range of productions. Each identity is developed for use across print and digital applications, providing a consistent visual asset that can be applied throughout the marketing campaign for every show.
