JRP Catalogues
The Client
JRP is a family-owned independent business established in 1981, serving trade customers nationally with automotive, home & leisure, tools, and most recently cycling products.
They pride themselves on providing great quality value for money products and, in 2024 have continued adding to the 4000+ product range in response to market and customer demand.
The Opportunity
JRP required an updated product catalogue that provided detailed information about the products they offer, helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.
Our Approach
Due to the page count and content type, we used the previous design files as a starting point, where the client indicated the products to remain and those to remove. We took the opportunity to re-introduce brand consistency throughout the catalogue. We did this by stripping out and simplyfying the style sheets used, which made the process quicker when adding products, an important step in saving time and money for the client.
For a catalogue of this size, navigation and calls to action are an important factor, making the user experience enjoyable. We acheived this by introducing a contents section, colour coded section tabs on each page, and a product and part number index at the back end. The layout needed to be flexible as the number of products and information was very varied throughout. This was aided by the creation of a range of promotional call to action pieces, in various sizes that drove readers to the website, social media channels, as well as certain ‘best seller’ items.
Results
A well-designed catalogue that surpasses client expectations is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and packed with useful, relevant content. It features high-quality images, clear product descriptions, and concise details, allowing customers to quickly understand the features and benefits of each item. The layout is clean and organized, with intuitive categorisation and search features, making it easy for clients to find what they need.
Following the successful execution of the catalogue, TGDH have become a key design, print and mail partner to JRP, regularly producing promotional leaflets from design, through to delivery.
