The National Museum of the Royal Navy

The Client

The National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) was created in early 2009 to act as a single non-departmental public body for the museums of the Royal Navy. With venues across the United Kingdom, the museums detail the history of the Royal Navy operating on and under the sea, on land and in the air.

The Opportunity

In early 2023, the National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) sought an agency to support them with design and print services for a range of events throughout the year. With a high volume of corporate brochures needed across their various museums, they were looking for a reliable partner who could consistently deliver materials that were both accurate and on-brand.

Our Approach

In our initial phase of collaboration, we worked diligently to establish a strong and trusted relationship with the client. This foundation was built on our ability to demonstrate efficiency and reliability across various projects, particularly those that demanded quick turnarounds. Our team understood the importance of meeting deadlines without compromising quality, and we consistently delivered results that exceeded expectations.

To ensure our output aligned with the client’s vision, we took the time to thoroughly study their brand guidelines and review previous collateral. This meticulous approach allowed us to grasp the nuances of their brand identity, including preferred colour palettes, typography, and design styles. By internalizing these elements, we were able to produce work that not only met their expected standards but also resonated with their target audience.

Results

As our partnership deepened, the client entrusted us with more creative endeavours that pushed the boundaries of their traditional branding. These ‘off-brand’ projects provided an exciting opportunity for our team to showcase our creative capabilities. We engaged in the process of concepting and development, exploring innovative ideas that were still aligned with the essence of their brand, but allowed for more artistic freedom and experimentation.

This evolution in our collaboration highlights our ability to adapt and grow within the partnership, transforming from a reliable service provider to a creative ally who can navigate both established brand aesthetics and new, unconventional concepts. Ultimately, this resulted in a strengthened relationship and positioned us as a key player in their creative strategy.
