Orca

The client

ORCA is a marine conservation charity dedicated to the long-term study and protection of whales, dolphins and porpoises, and the habitats they depend on across the world’s oceans.

Through research, advocacy and public engagement, ORCA works to identify and safeguard critical cetacean habitats in UK waters and beyond. Supported by a community of donors and members, the charity helps create safer environments for whales and dolphins and contributes to healthier marine ecosystems.

The brief

ORCA approached us to develop a new set of brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all communications and touchpoints. Following the successful rollout of the guidelines, our partnership expanded to support a wider range of projects across multiple formats.

This included a redesign of ORCA’s supporter magazine Flukeprint, the State of Cetaceans 2025 report, social campaign assets designed to drive donations and membership, and a suite of PowerPoint templates and stationery.

Our approach

We structured the work around a strong foundation of brand consistency, establishing clear guidelines first, then applying them across every output while allowing flexibility for different audiences and formats.

The brand guidelines were applied in a way that supports the clear communication of complex scientific information. This strengthens Orca's messaging, improves accessibility and builds as tronger emotional connection with supporters.

“The Graphic Design House team supported the process brilliantly, providing clear weekly updates that kept us informed and on track. The final assets for our fundraising campaigns are beautiful and exactly what we needed… I look forward to working with the team again on future projects.”

Results

The result is a comprehensive and consistent suite of brand assets designed to support ORCA’s growth across communications. By applying the guidelines across every output, ORCA’s identity is now more cohesive across touchpoints, strengthening audience engagement and reinforcing its position as a leading voice in marine conservation.
