A modern brochure redesign
The brief
The Lights is a vibrant cultural hub in Hampshire, offering music, theatre, comedy, dance, and community events. With a 249-seat auditorium, Arena Hall, business rooms, dance studios, and the Atrium Café Bar, it provides a versatile space for a wide range of activities. Since early 2023, The Graphic Design House (TGDH) has partnered with The Lights to elevate their branding and communication materials.
The seasonal brochure is a key tool for engaging audiences and promoting the theatre’s diverse events. The Lights wanted a modern design that would attract younger audiences while maintaining appeal for long-term patrons. The challenge was to develop a cohesive design across seasons, improve readability, and move away from heavy colour backgrounds that made text difficult to read, all while aligning with the theatre’s brand identity.
Our approach

The redesigned brochures were well-received by both long-term patrons and younger audiences. The cohesive yet dynamic design improved readability, enhanced audience engagement, and reinforced the theatre’s visual identity. Each season’s brochure now presents a modern, professional, and inviting experience for readers.
We continue to produce each season’s brochure for The Lights, including digital ISSU versions for the website. The partnership will focus on refining and evolving the design, keeping the brochures engaging, visually appealing, and aligned with the theatre’s brand to support audience growth and engagement.
