Wiltshire Creative

A design that flips the script

For Wiltshire Creative’s Spring/Summer 2025 brochure, we brought a bold split-design concept to life, combining playful expressive visuals with precise layout planning to create a distinctive, engaging brochure.

The brief

Wiltshire Creative is a vibrant arts and education charity bringing together the energy of Salisbury Playhouse, Salisbury Arts Centre, and Salisbury International Arts Festival. They produce year-round events and performances for audiences of all ages across Salisbury and beyond.

We’ve worked with them for several years on the design, print and mail of their seasonal brochures. For their Spring/Summer 2025 edition, they wanted to try something new, a split-format brochure that would showcase both their theatre season and festival programme in one bold, dynamic piece.

We designed a dual-format layout with a central calendar acting as the visual break. One side presents the theatre season; flip it over and you enter the festival world, both sides working in harmony, yet with distinct energy.

Our festival cover concept ideas explored three creative directions, from an illustrated map of Salisbury, a bold photographic treatment full of confetti and fireworks. Another idea showcased the signature Wiltshire Creative ribbons weaving through the design. Inside, elements like the Stonehenge illustrations which anchored at the bottom of the page reinforced the festival's connection to its historic setting.

A playful theatre season

We used a brighter, more vibrant colour palette and introduced playful cutouts around the title for standout impact. Inside the brochure, watercolour textures and flowing ribbon elements added movement and warmth across the pages keeping it fresh and engaging.

Print-ready & visually seamless

The design worked hard behind the scenes too. With precise pagination and structured grids, we made sure the brochure was both print-perfect and visually striking, allowing the split format and upside-down transition to feel seamless.

Results & next steps

The Spring/Summer 2025 brochure received fantastic feedback from the Wiltshire Creative team and their audiences. The format was praised for its creativity and clarity, with the dual-front cover concept and rich visuals making it more than a brochure: it became part of the experience.

We’re excited to continue supporting Wiltshire Creative, with plans to extend our design work into their show programmes. By building on this creative momentum, we’ll help bring more of their events to life across multiple formats.
